Alicia McCoy

Dr Alicia McCoy is Head of Research and Evaluation at Beyond Blue, an independent not-for-profit organisation that provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health. Alicia leads the team that supports the diverse research and evaluation activities undertaken and commissioned by Beyond Blue. This includes the development of an organisational performance framework.

Prior to this, Alicia held senior management positions in evaluation and research in the community sector. As General Manager Research and Impact at Family Life, Alicia established and lead the organisation’s first research and evaluation unit and developed an outcomes framework. Prior to this, she worked as a social worker with clinical experience in women and children’s health.

Alicia has published widely on a variety of evaluation-related topics. This has included peer reviewed articles in Evaluation and Program Planning, Evaluation Journal of Australasia, and Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation. She is currently working with two colleagues on a book proposal on evaluation in NGOs.

Alicia has presented at numerous domestic and international conferences on a variety of evaluation and research topics including those organised by the Australian Evaluation Society, American Evaluation Association, Australian Institute of Family Studies, and Family and Relationship Services Australia. Alicia also presented on building an organisational culture for social impact measurement at the 2014 Social Impact Analysts Association conference in Toronto Canada.

Alicia would bring a passion for evaluation and impact measurement to the role along with over a decade’s experience working in NGOs on the measurement of social impact.
