Our partners

Thank you to our current partners for their ongoing support of our work. Together we can advance the social impact movement in Australia.

Established in 1840, Australian Unity is Australia’s first wellbeing company, delivering health, wealth and care services for our members and the community. As a social enterprise, we’re motivated by our purpose to positively impact the wellbeing of millions. We reinvest profits to sustainably deliver products and services that matter most to our members, customers and the community.

We trace our origins back to a pub in Melbourne, where a group of eight people formed a friendly society to look after the health and wellbeing of its members. From our early days, we’ve been strong advocates for positive change in the community. After more than 180 years, we remain true to our roots.

We’ve been measuring the real wellbeing of Australians with Deakin University since 2000, through the Australian Unity Wellbeing Index. The Index is a tool that tracks how satisfied people are with their lives, using seven key areas of wellbeing. It has grown to become one of the most credible and enduring studies of wellbeing in Australia. For us, Real Wellbeing encompasses the whole experience of life. It’s about feeling supported in your health, connected with your community and empowered to live life on your terms.

Our Community is the engine room for creating and disseminating practical, affordable training, leadership, and technological solutions that allow not-for-profit and grantmaking organisations to get on with the crucial work of building stronger communities. Their partners in that work are not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises; government, philanthropic and corporate grantmakers, donors and volunteers, enlightened businesses, and other community builders. Our Community’s enterprises include SmartyGrants, Institute of Community Directors and Our Community House.

SVA Consulting helps social purpose organisations, government, funders and corporates strengthen their ability to alleviate disadvantage. They help their clients and partners to develop clear strategies, find ways to collaborate for greater social impact, and to measure and evaluate the change they are creating. For the past 10 years, they’ve worked exclusively on projects that strengthen the social sector and have developed a deep understanding of ‘what works’ in this space. They have become long-term trusted partners to so many clients – they share the same passion, and understand the social sector like no other group of consultants.

As social researchers and evaluators within the multidisciplinary Urbis family, the goal of Urbis’ Foresight, Strategy and Impact Unit is to improve lives through social and economic inclusion. Their team provides strategic advice across the policy cycle through evidence-driven insight, social research and evaluation. Urbis works across a range of sectors and bring specialist expertise to the social services, health and education sectors. By working in partnership with clients who share their values, and leveraging a multidisciplinary team of curious minds, they catalyse innovation, evidence and learning in service of positive social impact.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Centre for Social Impact (CSI) for providing the vehicle for SIMNA’s operations as well as substantial financial and in-kind support from 2012-2016, before SIMNA incorporated as a separate entity.

Each year the SIMNA Awards also attract a number of sponsors. You can read more about our 2025 Awards.
