Meet our panellists:
At this SIMNA webinar, we’ll hear from an expert in community psychology, an organisation measuring social cohesion across the country, and a local Council who has just built a framework to measure social outcomes for its community. Our panellists are:
1. Aden Date – Arts, Media and Social Impact Specialist
Aden Date is an Arts & Cultural sector consultant, SIMNA WA Committee Member, Director at Only the Human and teaches Community Psychology at Notre Dame University.
He’s worked with a variety of cultural organisations on social innovation and impact assessment projects. He’s interested in how culture, associational life and volunteerism contribute to meaning-making and well-being.
2. Anthea Hancocks – Scanlon Foundation
Anthea is the CEO of the Scanlon Foundation and CEO of the Scanlon Foundation Research Institute. The Scanlon Foundation is a private philanthropic organisation dedicated to social cohesion and the transition of migrants into Australian society.
Anthea is a Member of the Australian Multicultural Council, an accredited mediator, Chair of the Monash Migration and Inclusion Centre Advisory Board, a non-executive Director of YMCA Victoria, Chair of the Ubuntu Project’s Advisory Board and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
3. Megan Whittaker, Manager Social Outcomes, City of Parramatta
Megan is the Manager Social Outcomes with City of Parramatta Council, where she leads a team to develop and implement strategies that build a more Socially Sustainable community.
In 2019 Megan had the opportunity to work for 12 months with the Greater Sydney Commission on the Western Sydney Place Infrastructure Compact (PIC) Program. This involved supporting 8 NSW State social infrastructure agencies to prepare infrastructure responses to future growth scenarios.
Megan has much to share, including the Council’s experience of winning the SIMNA Award for Excellence in Social Impact Measurement for its work ‘Measuring Impact of the Socially Sustainable Parramatta Framework’.
Short presentations from our speakers will be followed by a facilitated panel discussion.
