About this event
Join the SIMNA Sydney Committee online on Wednesday, 24 February 2021 to explore the fascinating world of ‘meaningful evaluation’ with Dr Gianni Zappalà.
Dr Gianni Zappalà is an engaging and accomplished educator, facilitator and social impact expert with over thirty years of cross-sectoral experience.
Previously an Adjunct Associate Professor with the Centre for Social Impact at UNSW, he is currently a Professional Fellow at the Centre for Social Justice & Inclusion at the University of Technology in Sydney.
Gianni uses Spiritual Intelligence (SQ) based tools and frameworks for workshop facilitation, Masterclasses, social impact analysis, and program design.
As part of this particular conversation, Gianni will tell us about the development of ‘Meaningful Evaluation’ – his holistic and systemic approach to understanding and assessing outcomes:
- Key to Meaningful Evaluation is the assumption that it is more likely that immediate outcomes lead to Medium and Long-term outcomes (changes in behaviour) that are significant and sustainable, that is, achieve social impact, if the experience/s from participating in a program are ‘meaningful’.
- It is meant to complement rather than replace existing approaches to understanding and assessing outcomes, ensuring a more systemic and holistic approach to social impact assessment.
