Webinar: The social impact of ‘Creativity Village’ – an arts program in an aged care facility

February 1, 2021 By Administrator

SIMNA is a growing learning network of members and interested individuals who believe that understanding and measuring social impact is critical to achieving the best possible outcomes for all Australians, our communities and our environment.

About this event

Join the SIMNA Western Sydney Committee online on Thursday, 11 February 2021 to learn how the Information and Cultural Exchange (I.C.E.), a leading local arts organisation, is improving the  lives of people living in aged and dementia care.

In this webinar you’ll hear from:

  • Victoria Harbutt, Producer, Special Projects at Information and Cultural Exchange (I.C.E.) – a community-based contemporary arts organisation working with emerging and under-represented Western Sydney communities, artists and creative producers.
  • Sophia Markwell, General Manager at the Abel Tasman Village – an aged care facility based in Chester Hill, Sydney.

Together, Victoria and Sophia will take you through their unique partnership working with frail and dementia unit residents participating in an arts program, working with a range of contemporary artists.

They’ll also discuss the various ways they’ve measured the social impact of the program on residents – including both challenges and opportunities for the future.
