David-Beecham

David is a Senior Research and Evaluation Officer at the Department of Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI). David currently conducts evaluations of programs commissioned by various divisions across DCSI. David is also the Senior Ethics Advisor for the Families and Communities Research Ethics Committee and provides to internal and external researchers wanting to undertake research or evaluations with staff or clients of DCSI.

Before coming to Australia in April 2014, David had 10 years’ experience conducting sensitive research on issues such as intimate partner violence, female genital mutilation (FGM) and human trafficking. In his previous role at Coventry University, David worked with a number of African communities and associated NGOs located across Europe to address the issue of FGM. He has presented numerous papers at academic and non-academic conferences, produced publications for the Welsh Equalities and Human Rights Commission and the European Commission. David is very interested in examining the methodological issues associated with social impact bonds, particularly how one measures outcomes in monetary terms.
