Meet our Speakers

Angela Vurens Van Es, Manager Grants Social Impact, Lotterywest

Western Australia has the only lottery in the nation, and one of the few in the world, where all the profits are returned back to the community.

Lotterywest prides itself on working with communities and sectors that support those in need, that amplify local strengths and opportunities and that build better, more connected communities.

In the 2019/20 financial year, Lotterywest distributed 816 grants to 688 different not-for-profit organisations and local government authorities.

Sue Stepatschuk, Executive Officer, Freemantle Foundation:

The Fremantle Foundation is a community foundation that has been caring for the Fremantle and the Broader WA community for over 10 years.

To date, the Fremantle Foundation has granted over $2.8 million dollars’ worth of funds to not-for-profit organisations and invested $2.5 million dollars’ worth of philanthropic funds for the long-term benefit of the community.

The Fremantle Foundation is currently tracking its collective impact across seven key focus areas:

Health & Wellbeing, Homelessness, Education, Environment, Family & Community, Indigenous Australians, Arts & Culture.
