Each year Infoxchange runs the Australian Not-for-Profit Technology Awards, to recognise the best in technology innovation and service excellence in the not-for-profit sector across Australia. This year’s awards included an award for ‘Best Use of Data for Community Impact’ for the first time. Mission Australia were named winners at the ceremony on 11 May, with Maranguka Community Hub and The Smith Family also recognised as finalists.
Mike Davis, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Communications at Infoxchange, explains more about the background to the new award and what stood out about Mission Australia’s entry.
To highlight the importance of the use of ‘data for good’ in the not-for-profit sector, the Australian Not-for-profit Technology Awards held the inaugural ‘Best Use of Data for Community Impact’ award. The award recognises the innovative use of data to drive an organisation’s mission and culture and demonstrates how such data innovation has improved impact and service delivery. The Awards, hosted by Infoxchange, were held at the annual Connecting Up Conference in Melbourne, where Mission Australia took home the trophy for the award. Mission Australia (MA) has recently undergone a ‘data transformation’, where they have centred the ways they do their work around data collection, insights and implementation.
