Madeleine Beart

Madeleine Beart

Madeleine is an Associate Director in Ethos Urban’s Social Strategy and Engagement team. She has over 12 years of professional experience in creating and measuring positive impact and social sustainability across sectors like renewable energy, affordable housing and homelessness, transport infrastructure and urban development. She has worked in Australia, South Asia and the South Pacific, with her skillset across impact strategy and assessment, social value measurement, ESG, community and stakeholder engagement, evaluation, social procurement and social research.

Madeleine has a Master of Urban Planning and Bachelor of Architectural Studies, and is an accredited Social Value Associate through Social Value International. Her recent project experience includes measuring the social value of museums in people’s lives, developing an organisational framework on how to respond to homelessness across a state-wide property portfolio, conducting social impact assessments on major renewable energy and urban renewal projects, and designing a social outcomes framework and public procurement process to find a tenant to operate a much-valued heritage building to deliver community benefit.

Madeleine also sits on the Property Council of Australia’s Victorian Sustainable Development Committee. In her free time, you’ll find her beekeeping, riding her bike around inner Melbourne or camping in Victoria’s national parks.
