Brisbane – Social Accounting and Audit – A Taste Tuesday, 13 August 2013

July 13, 2013 By Administrator

Join us to hear about this social impact measurement methodology.

Thirteen countries across Europe and Asia, including the UK and India are now home to Social Audit Networks Social Accounting and Auditing Manual.  Social Accounting and Audit (SAA) has been growing globally.

The ultimate purpose of social accounting which is the process of producing verified accounts of the social, environmental and economic effects of an organisation’s actions – is to assist with responding to the complexities of assessing social impact and to report on what your organisation is doing in a holistic way.

  • Marcelle Holdaway, social accounting mentor, will give an introduction to Social Accounting & Social Auditing and will then host an interactive panel discussion on the benefits and challenges of the process.
  • Brian Coffey, previously Finance Support Manager, Mission Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory, will speak about that organisations social accounting journey.
  • Michael Towsey and Peter Pamment (current and previous members of Maleny Credit Union Board respectively) will speak on the credit union’s early adoption of social accounting and the intention to now reintroduce the process.
  • Shout out and Networking – do you know of some great research or an event related to social impact measurement? Are you about to release a related report? You may have just finished an impact measurement project and are willing to share your experience or about to start and would like to talk to others.  Well this is your window to give a 1 minute or less shout out about it.  Plus 10 minutes of free form networking.will be part of the event.
