Benjamin Jardine

I’m proud to be a founding member and current Director of SIMNA, where I’ve long supported the development of a strong, connected community of professionals committed to social value measurement in Australia. My passion lies in helping organisations understand and demonstrate the real impact they create – because I believe that what we choose to measure shapes what we value.
As a Trustee of Social Value International, I contribute to the global movement to change the way society accounts for value. SVI’s mission – to ensure that decisions reflect the full range of social, environmental, and economic outcomes – is one I deeply share. Through my governance role, I help guide strategy and support the growth of this international network, of which SIMNA is a proud Joint Member.
In my day-to-day work, I serve as CEO of The District Nurses, one of Tasmania’s most trusted and long-standing community organisations. We deliver high-quality, person-centred care to people across the state, and I’m privileged to lead a team that’s deeply committed to dignity, equity, and innovation.
My career began on the front line as a Speech Pathologist, and I’ve since worked with a range of social purpose organisations to drive transformative growth and impact. I’ve always been fascinated by the deceptively simple question: What works? – and I believe answering it requires more than business thinking or traditional metrics. It demands evidence, empathy, and a willingness to rethink how we define success.
SIMNA plays a vital role in building the tools, networks, and shared language we need to advance this work. I’m delighted to support its mission as a Director and to continue learning alongside this passionate and growing community.
